Corporate Killing

On 6th April 2008 the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act finally comes into force.

The Health and Safety Executive claims that the majority of workplace deaths are preventable and it sees prosecution as an important deterrent against managing activities in a way that put lives at risk.

Everyone involved in construction – from developers to sub-contractors – may be impacted by this new Act and they need to be aware of their duties regarding the health and safety of their employees.
