Semple Fraser announces new Edinburgh based commercial property team
Leading multinational law firm, Semple Fraser, announces the development of a new commercial property team in Edinburgh headed up by Elspeth Carson.
Semple Fraser already have a strong presence in their George Street office, and the new team is being formed to meet growing client demand and to help capitalise on growth opportunities across the UK.
Carson, who heads up the firm’s Property Group, is off to a flying start on the resourcing front. Firstly she is fortunate to be joined at partner-level by Ewan Thomson, currently working out of the firm’s Glasgow office. Joining them at Senior Associate level is Gillian Irons, currently with Brodies.

“Gillian joining Ewan and I is fantastic news. She has a wealth of experience in commercial property transactions and I know that she will add a great deal to what we can offer our clients.”
The appointment of Gillian is the start of a focused recruitment drive which will see a whole new team of commercial property lawyers joining the Edinburgh team. Given the increasingly cross-border nature of the work being handled, the firm is also looking for further English-qualified commercial property talent.
