Semple Fraser announces £13m fee income in 2005/2006

At the end of its first year as a multi-national partnership, Semple Fraser has announced £13m annual fee income for 2005/2006. This represents an impressive 20.7% rise on last year’s figures and three years continued 20%+ growth for the firm.

The firm is presenting a clear challenge for its bigger rivals, with a prestigious array of deals in the past year. This is reflected in the recent representation of Donegall Place Investments in their purchase of Edinburgh’s St James’ Centre - one of the largest recent deals of its kind in Scotland and winner of Scottish Property Awards ‘Deal of the Year’. Semple Fraser also advised on the subsequent sale of the property.

Bolstering their position in the marketplace with high profile clients such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Land Securities Group PLC and the Resolution Group (formerly Royal and Sun Alliance), it’s evident the firm is now operating on a major scale. This is manifested further in their UK presence, which has been up-weighted with a high volume of shopping centre deals throughout the UK, with a value circa £2bn.

Moreover, the thriving Environment team cements Semple Fraser’s position in the EU marketplace having won a second appointment from the European Commission this time to provide an EU compliance review of environment legislation in Latvia, Lithuania and Ireland.

Alister Fraser , Managing Partner, comments:

“It’s testament to the entrepreneurial flair of our clients and the energy and enthusiasm of our people that the firm can celebrate yet another year of significant growth. As a result of all their hard work and expertise, we’re now operating solidly, in the UK market place and beyond, in each of our chosen market areas. We’re excited by the opportunities our clients are opening up to us and look forward with confidence."

The firm continues to build and develop its team in response to its expanding business base. As a result, the past year has seen the firm appoint one new partner and three associates from within the ranks; and one new associate and four assistants from outside.
