Semple Fraser advise on rescue deal for Mathiesons Bakers

Semple Fraser have advised Mathiesons Foods Limited on the purchase of the 138 year old Mathiesons Bakery business from administration.

Mathiesons Foods has been formed by David Kilshaw, the former chief executive of Food Partners, one of the UK's largest sandwich makers; Mark Bradford, owner of James Allan Bakers, and Paul Allan, of Murdoch Allan Bakers.

The deal creates one of Scotland's largest independent bakery businesses which will have 51 high street outlets and employ more than 560 people throughout Scotland.

Semple Fraser advised Mathiesons Foods Limited on all corporate, insolvency, employment, property and banking aspects of the transaction.

Mark Bradford, director of Mathiesons Foods said:
