REG BioPower seek advice on legal obligations under the Renewable Energy Directive

Semple Fraser advised REG BioPower on detailed legal obligations of the UK Member State in respect of the promotion of biofuels and bioliquids manufactured from waste sources, as renewable sources of energy, pursuant to the Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EC.  There was particular focus on EU sustainability criteria and wider considerations of the EU Treaty, case law on harmonisation of EU law and the Waste Framework Directives.
