JCT - A new dawn, or just more of the same?
The Edinburgh seminar is now full - to be added to the reserve list please email julie.hecht@semplefraser.co.uk
In the UK, approximately 80-90% of all construction work is undertaken under Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) forms of contract. These standard forms are created in order to provide certainty, consistency and reflect current industry standards.
In an aim to make the forms easier to use whilst addressing the changing needs of the industry, the JCT has recently issued a long awaited new suite of contracts including traditional, design and build, management contracting, construction management, intermediate, minor works, major project form and framework and adjudication agreements. The Scottish Building Contract Committee (SBCC) has also issued new contracts integrating the relevant JCT contracts so that the use of only one document is now required.
All contractors and developers need to be aware of the new forms.
At this seminar we will be looking at the new forms, identifying the changes and highlighting the consequence of these amendments.
