Vestas sells wind turbine to Skycon
Semple Fraser recently acted for Vestas Towers in the sale of the Vestas wind turbine manufacturing plant near Campbeltown in Argyll.
The takeover by Danish company Skycon will immediately safeguard the 100-strong workforce, and the company also plans to boost employment to more than 300 skilled posts over the next two years.
The deal was struck with help from a government funding package, including a cash injection from economic development agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
The Scottish Government said the expansion would also support 400 jobs while construction work was taking place.
