Advised Vion N.V. on the Scottish aspects of the acquisition of the Grampian Country Food Group (Holdings) Ltd, which comprised 32 active Scottish companies. The acquisition is subject to certain conditions including the approval of the European Commission.

 

Vion, with its headquarters in the Netherlands, is one of Europe’s largest food companies with an annual turnover of €7.1billion and employs 80,000 people worldwide.

 

Grampian Country Food Group was founded in Scotland in 1980 and supplies the major supermarkets with chicken, pork, beef and lamb.  The company currently employs 17,500 staff with an annual turnover of £1.7billion.
