Sir Alex backs Harmony Row
Advised Harmony Row Youth Club Limited on their new state-of-the-art football ground in Govan.
The new pitches and pavilion were built at Braehead Shopping Centre, following a deal with Capital Shopping Centres who part funded the project as well as providing the land free of charge to the well-known charity youth club.
Harmony Row is supported by Sir Alex Ferguson, a patron and honorary member, who started his football career at the club in the mid 1950s. For the past decade, the Govan-based team, which runs a Soccer Sevens section, under-15, under-17, under-18 and under-21 teams and a female netball group, has been homeless, but now they have the chance to be part of a major new development in Scottish sport.
Sir Alex was there to open the new complex at Braehead. He had campaigned with others for 15 years to create new facilities for the club.
The development helps to secure the future of Govan’s football club and bring opportunities to the youth in the community. Other sponsors include Nike and ERDC.
Semple Fraser provided property and construction advice on the deal.
