Sustainable Resource Solutions seek legal classification for sludge by-products
Semple Fraser have advised new client, Sustainable Resource Solutions, on obtaining legal classification for the sludge by-products of two different water industry processes
Sustainable Resource Solutions is a Leeds-based waste and industrial resource project management company. The work currently being done is for Yorkshire Water and Dalriada (the operator of the Northern Ireland water and sewage infrastructure).
Semple Fraser’s environment team are working with the clients and the water companies to engineer what we believe will be the first attempt to obtain legal classification (as a non-waste commercially viable product line) for the sludge by-products of two quite different water industry processes: clean drinking water production (which produces a chemical-laden sludge) and sewage treatment (which produced a sludge laden with other stuff).
