The Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006
The Scottish Government has published a further consultation paper, setting out proposals to modernise planning appeals under the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006.
The Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 introduced new arrangements for planning appeals in Scotland. These new arrangements include establishing local review bodies to consider reviews of certain local planning applications and a range of other changes intended to promote greater efficiency in the appeal process.
This consultation paper describes the detailed procedures that the Government proposes to introduce and seeks comments on draft regulations covering schemes of delegation, local review bodies and appeals examinations that will sit alongside those powers in primary legislation and explains how these new arrangements are intended to work.
The consultation period expired on 9th May 2008. Click here to access the consultation document in full.
