Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 Consultations
The Scottish Government has published three more consultation papers, setting out further detailed proposals for changes to the planning system under the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006. They cover the Planning Hierarchy; Development Plan Examinations and Development Management. The consultation period for each expired on 21st March, 4th April and 2nd April respectively.

The Scottish Government has also announced that proposed planning controls to regulate retail mezzanine floors have been postponed until further notice in light of the current economic climate. Our Planning Group is monitoring the position. Please continue to visit this website to find out when the proposed controls are being reconsidered.
Second National Planning Framework
As required by the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act, the proposed Second National Planning Framework (NPF2) was laid before the Scottish Parliament on 12 December 2008 for a period of 60 days consideration (until March 2009). Final modifications will be made by the Scottish Ministers and it is anticipated that it will be published in Spring 2009. For further information please click here.
