Semple Fraser win Commercial Property Firm of the Year
Semple Fraser battled it out with a number of other law firms at the Law Awards of Scotland last night to win ‘Commercial Property Firm of the Year’ 2007.
The annual gala awards dinner took place in Glasgow last night and was attended by more than 500 industry and business professionals.
The two-stage judging process saw some 6,000 questions sent out to Scottish companies, law firms and advocates to get feedback on the best law firms and the individuals that have made a big impact on the legal profession in the last year. A judging panel chaired by Mhairi Richard QC then assessed the short listed nominees.
Property is at the core of Semple Fraser’s business. More than fifty percent of business is generated from serving the commercial property market. The firm advise clients on a UK wide basis, and have forged a first-class reputation in the marketplace, being recognised as one of the largest specialist firms in Scotland in terms of both the volume and value of the property transactions dealt with year on year.
Elspeth Carson, Head of the Commercial Property Group commented:
"Peer recognition is important for every professional organisation and we were delighted to accept this award. Although the award is characterised as the 'commercial property team' of the year it would be wrong to think that we commercial property lawyers can take all the credit. At Semple Fraser our property deals are supported by specialist lawyers from all our disciplines - from banking to tax; corporate to environmental - and very able people at all levels of the business.”
