Semple Fraser promotes specialists
Leading law firm Semple Fraser today announces the promotion of five senior fee-earners as the firm continues to thrive.
Dual qualified lawyers Douglas Gourlay , Jonathan Kirkwood and Kirsteen Milne all excelled in their fields marking them out for promotion to Director level. Nigel Eccles and Kathryn Black merit promotion to Associate.
Douglas, a banking expert in the firm’s Finance Group specialises in property finance and has significant cross-border experience in both commercial property and general corporate banking practice acting for many of the UK’s large clearing banks and financial institutions, as well as developers and investors.
Jonathan worked in London before moving north of the border to work with Semple Fraser’s large UK client base. He works with a wide variety of businesses, from larger SMEs right through to public companies. Jonathan has a particular expertise in corporate real estate advising clients on innovative funding and structuring transactions, such as off-shore limited partnerships.
Kirsteen leads the construction team in Edinburgh and acts for a number of the firms key clients including Business Homes and the Unite Group plc. She joined the firm as a trainee and now advises developers and consultants on all aspects of highly specialist construction work, both contentious and non contentious, as well as often presenting to industry on key issues such as Health & Safety.
Nigel and Kathryn are senior solicitors in the Glasgow property group and are heavily involved in advising clients on shopping centre management – an area where Semple Fraser specialise (the firm has advised on over £3.5bn of shopping centre and retail assets across the UK over the last 3 years).
