Signet Accreditation celebrates first awards
The first lawyers in Scotland to pass a new, groundbreaking assessment were recently recognised at an awards ceremony at The Signet Library in Edinburgh.
Alison Gow, a Partner in Semple Fraser’s Litigation team, was one of a handful of leading figures invited to sit on the committee to determine who receives the new accreditation.
The Signet Accreditation, which was introduced last year, aims to attract up-and-coming lawyers with around 6 years experience, initially in the fields of commercial property and litigation. The new scheme requires lawyers to complete and pass a rigorous assessment, after which they will become recognised for high standards in both legal knowledge and client-focused skills, such as communication and commerciality.
