WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Every member of Semple Fraser’s team is expected to deliver – our trainee solicitors are no exception. We will be expecting you to have an excellent academic track record but we will be looking beyond that – at your wider activities, interests and achievements – to see if you have the special qualities that we are looking for in our trainees.

You must be really passionate about your choice of a career in law.

Even at this early stage in your career you need to demonstrate that you are commercially savvy. That means that you will have a good awareness of current affairs and the business world, including how organisations work. You will also have the ability to see issues from the perspective of the client, not just the lawbook.

You must be able to operate successfully in our strong social culture. That means that we will be looking for evidence that you will fit in well to our collaborative, team-based environment and will have the essential building blocks for developing future strong relationships with clients.
