Getting energy and product out of waste: the latest legal developments

This seminar has been exceptionally popular and is now FULL.
However, please register to add your details to the reserve list and we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know if a place has become available.

There are still many commercial and legal uncertainties that can plague decision-making based around very basic but fundamentally important questions concerning waste:

  • When is a residue or by-product a waste, and when is it a commercial product?
  • When does a waste cease to be a waste, and become a commercial product?

In 2010, many developments are coming to a head on the legal treatment of the meaning of waste – primarily, the new Waste Framework Directive becoming law, but also the expansion of the EA / Wrap Protocol project, and the recently set up EA “End of Waste Panel”.

This whole area of “waste to product”, “end of waste” and “energy from waste” is a key area of expertise for us, with our work at European Commission level, and in the major Court of Appeal litigation which has driven the legal agenda in recent years.

We are hosting an industry seminar concentrating very specifically on addressing these fundamental issues of waste and product status.  The seminar will be a focused event of serious players, where there will be real scope for discussion of the issues, and we would be delighted if you could join us.
