planning - the changing climate

With the seemingly endless stream of consultations on the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act emerging over the past few months, it’s no wonder ‘consultation fatigue’ has begun to set in, as all and sundry comment on them and try to forecast what their impact might be.

While the changes under the Act are dominating the planning agenda, it might appear as if nothing else of significance is happening to the planning system, but the Act is only part of a much bigger picture, with equally radical shifts in law, policy and procedure going almost unnoticed.

In their eighth annual planning and development seminar, Drivers Jonas and Semple Fraser have again brought together their combined expertise, looking, this year, both at and beyond the Act to offer a unique perspective on the changing climate for planning in Scotland.
