Heather Nisbet was a founding member of the firm in 1990.  She became a commercial property Partner in 1992, with a particular focus on evolving strategies to mitigate SDLT and VAT and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland's Tax Committee.  Since 1999, Heather has been a consultant with the firm.

Years' experience of structuring commercial property transactions, as a property lawyer, combined with her tax focus, allows Heather to quickly appreciate the combined property and tax law implications of any available deal or structure – and to provide advice on the optimum route.

In addition to being part of our tax team, Heather’s other main focus is on knowledge management for the commercial property group. In this role she is involved with the production of precedents and practice notes for the group and has also worked with our IT group to create Semple Fraser’s own in-house transaction management and plot sales systems.
